Your home’s pipes are designed to last, but not forever. Eventually, your pipes will wear down, corrode, and become more susceptible to leaks and mineral deposits. This is especially true if you have an older home. Old galvanized pipes and drainage pipes also contain percentages of lead in them–which can lead to serious health problems.

Plumbing repiping is a large project that should only be performed by experienced professionals. Whether your repiping project is large or small, you can count on D&F Plumbing, Heating and Cooling to complete your project properly and efficiently.

Repiping Process

We will start your repiping by covering your furniture and floors to protect them from dust and water. After locating your piping, we’ll cut small holes into your drywall, only removing as much material as needed to remove the old pipe and replace it with PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) or new copper. To access the piping in your floor, we will oftentimes go through the ceiling below.

Depending on the size of your home, repiping may take between 3 and 5 days. During the repiping process, we will make sure you continue to have water service for the most part by using a bypass. If you’re at work for most of the day, you may not even notice the water service interruption.

*Note: we do not patch or repair any cuts into your ceiling or walls after the repipe is completed.

Why Choose PEX and Copper Pipes?

Red and blue PEX plumbing. D&F Plumbing, Heating and Cooling provides plumbing repiping services in Portland OR and Vancouver WA.PEX is known for its flexibility and durability. PEX pipes don’t need to be soldered, and can easily be installed with crimp fittings or push fittings. PEX is the next evolution in plumbing!

Copper has been a traditional pipe material for the last 70 or so years. We still believe in copper because it’s long-lasting, sturdy, and best of all–it can be combined with PEX to make a flexible and classic plumbing system.
