What to do in a Plumbing Emergency
While our technicians are on the way, follow these steps to minimize damage:
- Shut the off the Main Waterline for Major Problems: Locate your water shut off valve. This is located outside near the water meter. By turning off the shut off valve, you will stop water from entering your home.
- Turn Off the Shut Off Valve for Sinks and Toilets: There is a shut-off valve near the base of the floor and where the line enters the wall. This is most commonly under the sink and behind the toilet.
- Address Any Leaks: This can be done by wrapping towels around the leak and using a bucket to collect water. Be sure to try to keep the areas as dry as possible to reduce water damage to your property.
- In Case of Water Heater Emergencies… Immediately turn the water heater unit off. This helps to prevent water heater damage and reduces the need for additional water heater repair. If you shut off the mainline this may cause pressure to build and may lead to bigger problems.

I called D&F plumbing to fix my kitchen sink. Brad the project manager answered the phone and listened and really took the time with me. I always appreciate talking with a person vs an answering service or robot. Brad sent Nathan out to do the work on my sink. Nathan even came out extra early to make sure I didn’t have to be late to work. Nathan explained everything he was going to do to my kitchen sink and talked me through it. Nathan explained the part that was needed and how the part worked. He even put down tarp to protect my floors. Nathan and Brad the project manager really put a lot of heart, care, and help in working with me to get my kitchen sink safe and working again. A day later and under my sink is still clean and dry! Everything is working great. They are my go to for all my plumbing from now on , worth every cent!

Jason Reid came today to look at my water heater. He was a competent pleasant man who knew what he was doing. He was upfront in his diagnosis of my problem and didn’t try to find other non existent problems. He helped me do a couple things I couldn’t do myself. (Not enough strength or height). I appreciated his willingness to help. I would recommend D and F plumbing. They have been around forever and take care of both Oregon and Washington customers. Jason is a keeper. I’m old enough to be his grandma and it’s my birthday.
